Frequently asked questions

Using the tools

Is SellerCalcs really free?
Yes. Every calculator and AI tool is free to use, with no signup, no email gate, and no "upgrade to view results" paywall. We fund the site through display advertising and the occasional affiliate link when a tool legitimately recommends a service we use.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no account system. Open the page, use the tool, close the tab. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to install.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The site is mobile-first responsive — calculators, AI tools, and content all work on phone, tablet, and desktop.
Can I save my inputs?
Some calculators store the last-used values in your browser (via localStorage) so you can come back to them. These are stored on your device, not on our servers. Clear your browser storage to reset them.
Does the AI tool output get better the more I use it?
No — and that's by design. Our AI tools use deterministic templates running locally, so you get the same output every time for the same input. This is more predictable and trustworthy than an LLM that drifts over months.

Privacy & data

Do you store the numbers I enter into calculators?
No. Every calculation runs in JavaScript in your browser. The numbers you enter never reach our servers. Refresh the page and they're gone.
What about the text I enter into AI tools?
Same answer. AI tool inputs are processed locally by template logic in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
Do you use cookies?
A small number of first-party cookies for essential functions. Third-party services (Google AdSense, Google Analytics) set their own cookies. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Will you ever sell my data?
There's no user data to sell. We don't have accounts, don't collect emails, and don't store calculator inputs.

Accuracy & fee schedules

How accurate are the fee schedules?
They reflect current 2026 published rates from TikTok Shop, Amazon, Shopify, and major freight forwarders. Account-specific exceptions and category-level rates may differ. Always confirm with your platform Seller Center for precise rates.
How often are fees updated?
When a platform announces a major change, we update within 2 weeks. Annual fee schedule refreshes happen in January each year.
Are the foreign exchange rates live?
No. The Currency & Pricing Localization tool uses static reference rates updated periodically. For live checkout pricing, integrate a live FX source in your store (Shopify Markets, Stripe, OpenExchangeRates).
My result looks wrong. What do I do?
Email bugs@sellercalcs.com with the page URL, the inputs you used, the result you got, and the result you expected. We usually fix calculation bugs within 24 hours.

Output & usage

Can I use the AI tool output commercially?
Yes. All output from our AI tools is yours to use, edit, and publish — including in product listings, ads, websites, and emails — without attribution.
Can I embed your calculators on my site?
Not currently. Direct linking is welcomed and encouraged. If you have a specific embed use-case, email us.
Can I screenshot a calculation for a client report?
Yes. Screenshots, copy-pastes, and references in reports or presentations are fine. Attribution is appreciated but not required.

Roadmap

Will you build a calculator for Walmart Marketplace / eBay / Etsy fees?
Yes, in that rough order. If you'd vote for a specific one, email hello@sellercalcs.com — the most-requested calculator is usually the next one we build.
Will you add languages other than English?
On the roadmap. Likely order: Simplified Chinese, then Spanish, then Vietnamese, based on cross-border seller distribution.
Will the AI tools eventually use a real LLM?
We're evaluating it. The tradeoff: a real LLM would produce more nuanced output but would require server costs, rate limits, and would mean your input leaves the browser. We're prioritising privacy and zero rate-limits over LLM nuance until users tell us otherwise.

Business & partnerships

Do you offer affiliate or referral programs?
Not as a publisher. We participate in affiliate programs of services we recommend (Shopify, Stripe, freight forwarders, accounting tools) and earn commission when readers sign up through our links.
Can I advertise on SellerCalcs?
Currently advertising is via Google AdSense. For direct sponsorships or branded calculator partnerships, email partners@sellercalcs.com.
Will you build a custom calculator for my company?
We don't take consulting work. If you have a calculator idea that would be broadly useful to other sellers, suggest it and we may build it for everyone.
